On September 7, a unique astronomical event took place – on that day, the residents of Gliwice had the opportunity to watch a total lunar eclipse during joint observations at Krakowski Square. On the occasion of the event, SKN SpaceCoffee was asked to prepare an exhibition of its activities. The event began at 4:00 p.m., but the highlight of the program, the astronomical observations, began at 7:00 p.m. Using the available telescopes, those gathered were able to view the evening sky up close. At the same time, SpaceCoffee representatives organized a presentation of our own space-related activities, such as mini-space probe and exploration rover projects. We also presented our achievements in the field of gaming, including a trailer for our underwater adventure game Europa. This project also has a space theme, as the player of Europa takes on the role of an ocean explorer under the ice cover of one of Saturn's moons.
The peak of observation took place around 8:30 p.m., when all participants of the event could see the red silhouette of the Moon in the sky without telescopes. It is a fascinating sight, which we will not have the opportunity to see again until the end of 2028.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the SKN SpaceCoffee exhibition and encourage you to continue nurturing your desire to learn and your fascination with space :)
